Small request

[edit source]

Hello! I am a Polish wikipedian and I would like to ask you for your help - writing a new article about former Polish President who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1983 – Lech Wałęsa. I have looked for his biography in your Wikipedia but without success. Polish Wikipedians will be grateful for your help. Thank you so much in advance! PS you can find the English version of the article here. Best wishes from Poland, Patrol110 11:49, 26 íNgongóni 2009 (UTC)

Hi Patrol110 i'll do the article soon, thanks --Bobbyshabangu (talk)

South African Wikimedia Chapter

[edit source]

Greetings! Discussion is underway to set up a local South African Wikimedia Chapter. There are currently over 25 chapters established around the world, but so far, none in Africa. Currently a group of local Wikipedians are in the process of setting up the South African chapter. If you're interested in being involved in the creation of a South African Wikimedia Chapter, please add your name to the Meta page and also join the mailing list here. Also, email me directly if you would like to be involved in the kickoff Chapter workshop scheduled to be held at Wits University on 7th and 8th August. Thanks, Kaydee 68 16:32, 28 Kholwane 2010 (UTC)Reply

Wikimedia South Africa Human Rights Day Edit-a-thon 2025

[edit source]

Good day, Fellow Wikipedians of siSwati Wiki

Wikimedia South Africa invites you to the first of many online edit-a-thons aimed at expanding African content on Wikipedia in African languages. This inaugural event will be held in celebration of South Africa’s Human Rights Day, a day of remembrance for the Sharpeville Massacre and a tribute to those who fought for the freedoms we enjoy today.

Currently, much of this important history is only available in English and Afrikaans. Our goal is to change that by making it accessible in South African native languages. Join us in bridging the language gap and ensuring that this rich history is available to all.
